On Friday, PETA released a new commercial to promote its petition to end pet ownership.
The ad says it is a “pet adoption service” and claims that pet owners should be “aware that they are in direct competition with their own pets.”
The ad features a woman who says she wants to have her “little dog” euthanized.
“I don’t care how cute it is.
She’s a danger,” says the woman, who is also the wife of a local PETA executive.”
My dog is a danger to me,” she adds.
“She’s a big threat to my life.”
“My dogs have a tendency to attack me, I think,” the woman adds.
The campaign comes as PETA and other animal rights groups continue to push for tighter regulations for pet ownership and euthanasia.PETA says its ads are not intended to promote a particular breed or behavior, but rather to educate the public about the dangers of pet ownership, and that it wants to make sure the animals are “in the right place at the right time.”PETA is also urging people to call its toll-free number and speak with a PETA representative.
